BNBC Tuesday Night Tournament Series - Evergreen

Late July.  Most of us think of hot, humid and blisteringly sunny days.  Not when there’s a tournament around here.  Thirteen teams fished in seemingly ideal weather; mid 70’s, overcast and a slight breeze.  There was nothing ideal but the weather.

Posting their sixth first place finish was the team of Bree and Maisenbacher.   These guys are on a serious streak, shooting for the Team of the Year award.  Things went their way as Scott and Jamie both caught one of the bass weighed in for a total weight of 4.06 pounds.  Not exactly record-setting, but it was good enough for this event.  They noted bites were scarce and came early in the tournament.

Right behind in second place was the team of Luke Vickers and, according to Luke, Luke Vickers.  Brian Overocker fished but ended up with a strong net arm at the end of the night.  Vickers caught both of the team’s bass, leading them to a money finish when the conditions were very tough.  Luke and Brian had a total weight of 3.97 pounds, just under a tenth behind the lead.  Congrats, guys!  And Luke - this story’s for you!

The scales don’t lie, which was unfortunate for Ken Petersen and Andy Veselak.  Their two-fish bag came in at 3.96 pounds, just one-one hundredth behind Vickers and Overocker.   Ken and Andy finished in the money with this third place sack.

The event’s big bass was caught by Hurt and Bierbaum early in the night.  Ther cash cow weighed in at 3.36 pounds.  Dennis commented on his next big tournament purchase, saying it was going to be a super net to keep up with Hurt’s catches.
