The second Tuesday Night Tournament at Clinton Lake was hot. Air temps in the low to mid 90’s with humidity thicker than Aunt Jemima syrup made things slightly uncomfortable for the seven angler teams. Water temps in the low to mid 90’s made things slightly uncomfortable for everything underwater. Last time, there were four fish weighed in. This time would prove to be no different. The BNBC fished a new venue this evening under post-front conditions (just how we like it!) at Clinton Lake. Eight teams tested their mettle; three were lucky enough to have fish. Read the rest of this entry »

There’s a hot team on the Tuesday circuit. They now have 4 first place finishes after tonight’s event.
Sixteen boats hit Evergreen hard for three hours and half of them returned with bass. Fishing’s been slightly tough on the lake this year, and tonight was no exception. Read the rest of this entry »

Lake Bloomington fishing has been getting better this year, and the BNBC went out to collect. Nine 2-man teams and two lone boaters ventured forth and hunted down the green swimmers. 29 fish were brought in for show and tell. Read the rest of this entry »

With summer fast approaching, the fishing is heating up as well. Fourteen teams convened on Lake Bloomington under mostly cloudy skies with a good chance of rain and temps in the low 70’s. Yes, rain again during a BNBC tournament. Two teams would bring in the first limits of the Tuesday series. Let’s recap the action.

Remember the weather we had at Spring Lake on Sunday? It wasn’t sticking around for Tuesday. Heavy rains and storms were in the area again, but that didn’t stop ten teams from taking to the lake and showing what they had. Read the rest of this entry »

…And the South shall rise again!
Unbelievably great weather conditions lead to the best tournament this year at Spring Lake on May 24. Mostly sunny skies, light breezes and NO RAINS were enjoyed by our club for the first time in a tournament this year. And it showed at the weigh-in. We had an incredible 32 members fish and only a few (4) didn’t have fish. Let’s dive in and recount the day… Read the rest of this entry »

Record turnout for teams, not for fish.
Sure you can put twenty teams of the regions finest anglers out on Lake Bloomington. Does that mean you will have a weigh-in that defies all previous knowledge of the lake? Not tonight. Of the twenty two-angler teams, five, yes five (5) fish were weighed at the scales. Of course, two of them were five-pound-class fish, which made for a tight race. Read the rest of this entry »

Hopes were high for a big sack event Tuesday at Evergreen. Hopes were painfully crushed in just three short hours.
High winds again greeted the anglers of the BNBC at Evergreen. We seem to have less-than-stellar luck with weather at the lake this year, but we fight through it. Seventeen boats gave it their all for the evening, but the lake was’t giving it up. Thirteen of the angler teams came back reeking of skunk, but we later learned the smell was Martoglio’s saugeye carcasses in the trash cans. Thanks, Jerry.

For your perusal, I’ve posted two new photo albums today. One is for the IHSA Sectional that was here at Evergreen, the other is for the Sunday tourney we had at Evergreen. I’ve used a different format, and I’m curious to know if you like it or not.
This format, thumbnail to large image, does save me some time in preparing the pages. I personally think they are a more attractive display, but I need your opinions. Comment on this post and let me know what you’d change, if anything, or if I have found the right stuff. Additionally, let me know if photos are a priority in your viewing of the website.
Just so you are aware, photos will always take a backseat to results postings and new club info. That’s mainly because each album takes about one hour to develop, based on 8 to 10 photos, and the fact I do this crap for free on my time (unfortunately, I can’t do it at work due to certain restrictions!).
Post your comments and I’ll listen. - James
